Ninel Alver is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Ege University, Turkey where she has been a faculty member since 2009. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees (Ege University 1999 and 2002, respectively), and a Ph.D. (Kumamoto University, Japan 2005 funded by Monbukagakusho) in civil engineering. She worked as a Guest Scientist at Kumamoto University in Japan between years 2005 and 2007, and Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing-BAM in Germany between years 2007 and 2008. Her stay in Germany was financed by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Dr. Alver worked as a visiting professor at University of Central Florida in USA in years 2019-2020.
Dr. Alver’s research area is non-destructive testing. She applies multi-scale non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to assess the condition of infrastructure materials and structures. Her research also focuses on structural health monitoring as well as numerical simulation and modeling.
She has completed several nationally- and internationally-funded research projects Her research findings have been published in numerous high-impact technical journals as well as conference proceedings.
She is married to a fellow academic Professor and has a gorgeous daughter.
