Özet

Aim: Our aim is to determine risk factors for 30 and 90days of readmission after severe COPD exacerbation.

Material-Method: It is a prospective, observational recording study.415 patients who were hospitalized with severe COPD exacerbation (non-ICU) were included. On the 30 and 90 days after the patients discharge, readmission were questioned by phone. Data were analyzed by appropriate statistical method and risk factors about readmission were determined by logistic regression analysis.

Results: The mean age is 69±9.1 / year, 346 (83%) are male. The 30day readmission rate is 42.4% (n:176), the 90day is 46% (n:191).Risk factors about 30 and 90 day readmission determined by logistic regression analysis are shown in Table 1.

Conclusion: 30 and 90 day readmission rates are very high in COPD patients who hospitalized with severe exacerbation. The type of exacerbation is related on readmission. However, comorbid conditions (especially anxiety/depression),HAP and hospitalization from the emergency department are also related to readmission.Further studies are needed on the subject.
