It is aimed to determine the potential of propagation of the ornamental plant and to make proposals for the development of the sector in the study carried out in the villages in Bayindir County of Izmir province. There are 500 farmers who make ornamental plant production in the district. Although, data were planned to collect all producers in the county but 253 producers were willing to respond to the survey Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, T test, Mann-Withney U test, Chi square tests, linear and ordered logit regression methods were employed for analyzing of data. The average age of the producers is 43.2 years old and education level is 8.1 years. The average farm size is 1.1 ha land and parcel numbers are 1.8. The protected cultivation areas are 0.13 ha and about five parcels. The enterprises with an average size of 1.1 ha are composed of 1.8 parts. The amount of protected cultivation area consists of five parts on average and 0.13 ha area. In protected cultivation areas, according to the structures, the low tunnel (50%) is mostly preferred. The most used production material in the county is miles (33,8%) and the largest share in the product design belongs to the shrubs group (38,3%). In this study, the problems encountered by the producers during and after the production were determined and suggestions were made about the solutions of these problems. In addition, for Bayindir, it was deemed that a production pattern with outdoor ornamental plants is more appropriate than indoor ornamental plants. In this direction, suggestions were made for suitable species to be included in the production pattern.
