Abstract

Meltblowing is a versatile and cost effective process for producing microfiber nonwovens directly from thermoplastic resins. Due to their microstructure, meltblown nonwovens are characterized by lightweight, high surface area, porosity, softness and absorbency. Different types of meltblown nonwoven webs can be used in many application fields, such as filtration, insulation, apparel, wipes, and in medicine. In this paper, the effect of various production parameters on the physical properties of PP meltblown nonwovens was investigated.
