This study is designed for inquiring the reflection of globalization on in-service training programs from the teachers' perspectives. While dealing with globalization that has long been discussed worldwide and recently in Turkey, it was limited with its social aspects. Among 8893 classroom teachers in Izmir, 412 were included being applied "the reflection of globalization on in-service training scale". The data indicated significant differences between teachers' perspectives and the variables of educational status and frequency of participation in in-service training programs. However, no differences were found for gender, age and seniority. Besides, ail open-ended question was asked to strengthen the data. The findings indicated that the participant teachers were in need of having qualitative in-service training programs related with social effects of globalization that will guide them being contemporary teachers in their professions. Thus, this study is considered to have a contribution in revising and reforming the current in-service training programs by the administrations.
