Abstract

This research aims to reveal the contribution of completed postgraduate education to school management duties. Research was designed as a case study model. The study sample consists of 48 school administrators working in ˙ Izmir, having completed postgraduate education programs. Data were subjected to content analysis. According to findings, school administrators found some courses beneficial in scientific thinking and research, data collection and analysis, science literacy and critical thinking skills, as well as in system analysis and school problem-solving skills. A few school administrators found the courses not beneficial. Practice-oriented activities (student presentations, discussions etc.) were found more effective than lectures presented by academicians.
