The advantages of space vector PWM have made it preferred technique for power converters. Number of switchings and switching frequency have important effects on thermal operating conditions and losses of power switches. This paper presents a novel space vector PWM approach with reduced number of switchings and relatively low total harmonic distortion factor at low switching frequency. To verify the proposed approach, comparative simulation studies have been carried out using MATLAB/Simulink and the results have been presented and compared.
