A General Evaluation of the Fauna of Cherry Orchards in Turkey

In this study, the fauna of cherry orchards in Turkey has been evaluated and a total of 555 species belonging to 10 orders has been determined. Amongst those, the species such as Rhagoletis cerasi L. (Diptera: Tephritidae), Archips rosanus L. (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), Stephanitis pyri (F.) (Heteroptera: Tingidae), Caliroa limacina Retz. (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae), Scolytus rugulosus (Muller) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae), Capnodis tenebrionis L. (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), Melolontha albida Friv. (Coleoptera: Melolonthidae), Polyphylla olivieri Lap. (Coleoptera: Melolonthidae) and Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acarina: Tetranychidae) have great importance in cherry production in Turkey.
