Purpose: To perform biochemical profiles before and after percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) and investigate the potential utility of measuring C-reactive protein (CRP); circulating cytokines, and neopterin, a marker Of cell-mediated immunity, to predict outcomes of patients with obstructive jaundice.
